Germany’s exports rose 4.2% year-on-year in October to €131.3 billion, while imports increased by 2.8% to €114.5 billion, the federal statistical authority Destatis announced on Tuesday.
The country’s foreign trade balance posted a surplus of €16.9 billion in October, Destatis stated.
Germany exported goods worth €76.3 billion to the member states of the EU in October, and imports from them totaled €61.1 billion.
Exports to the non-EU countries in the month amounted to €55.1 billion, while imports from these countries were at €53.4 billion.
Germany’s exports to Russia increased by 4.8% to €600 million in October on a monthly basis.
