Germany to take on Serbia in 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup final

Germany will take on Serbia in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup final, as the former eliminated the US 113-111 in the semifinal showdown on Friday.

Franz Wagner, Daniel Theis and Andreas Obst contributed to their team’s vital victory against the five-time champions, with more than 20 points each, at the Manila Mall of Asia Arena.

The US’ Anthony Edwards dropped 23 points, while his compatriot Austin Reaves scored 21.

Germany, in their maiden World Cup final, will take on Serbia, which eliminated Canada 95-86 in the other semifinal clash on Friday.

Serbia, on the other hand, will play for their third World Cup trophy, won twice as Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, in their fourth final.

Both the third-place game, which will be played between Canada and the US, and the final will be held on Sunday.
