Former Chelsea player Willian brought the lead to Fulham in the 25th minute and the first half ended 1-0 for the hosts at Craven Cottage in London.
Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly leveled the score for the Blues in the 47th minute.
Portuguese attacker Joao Felix, who recently joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid, was sent off after a hard tackle in the 58th minute in his maiden game for the London side.
Felix is expected to get a three-match suspension.
Fulham’s Brazilian attacker Carlos Vinicius scored in the 73rd minute and the match ended 2-1.
Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League standings with 25 points while Fulham are in 6th place with 31 points.
