Fuel prices rise about 13% in Morocco amid war-driven supply disruptions

RABAT, Morocco

Fuel prices in Morocco rose by about 13% on Wednesday as supply disruptions linked to the ongoing war pushed costs higher.

Diesel prices increased from 12.79 dirhams ($1.37) to 14.50 dirhams ($1.55), while gasoline rose from 13.92 dirhams ($1.49) to 15.60 dirhams ($1.67), marking the second price hike since the war in Iran began.

Global markets have seen heightened volatility due to the US-Israeli war on Iran, with rising oil prices fueling inflation concerns.

Since Feb. 28, Gulf states have faced Iranian retaliatory attacks that have damaged infrastructure, including airports, ports and energy facilities.
