French President Emmanuel Macron and his South Korean counterpart Yoon Suk Yeol met in Elysee Palace on Tuesday to discuss cooperation between their countries in advanced technologies and future strategic industries such as space and aviation.

Both leaders expressed their commitment to addressing concerns related to North Korea, during a press conference ahead of their meeting.

Macron said France supports South Korea to resolve the North Korean nuclear crisis.

“North Korea’s nuclear and missile threat extends beyond the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia, posing a challenge to global peace,” Yoon warned.

In addition to North Korea, Macron and Yoon also discussed security concerns in Ukraine, stressing the importance of responsible actions.

Yoon acknowledged President Macron’s significant support for Ukraine, adding that the conflict in Ukraine poses a threat to world peace.

Yoon pledged close cooperation with the international community to actively contribute to peace efforts in the country.
