Fenerbahce Beko confirmed on Friday the signing of Skylar Mays on a deal through the end of the 2024-25 season.
“Skylar Mays, a versatile player capable of playing both guard positions, brings valuable skills to the team,” the Istanbul basketball club said in a statement.
“Known for his court vision and passing ability, Mays can also contribute to scoring when necessary,” it added.
Mays previously played for NBA teams, including the Atlanta Hawks (2020-22), Portland Trail Blazers (2022-24), and Los Angeles Lakers (2023-24).
During his time in the NBA, the point guard averaged 4.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in just over 10:30 minutes in 105 regular season games.
Mays’ arrival at the Istanbul club marks his first foray into European basketball. He spent the last four seasons in the NBA, where he played 114 games.
The 27-year-old will cover the absence of Scottie Wilbekin, who is expected to miss the rest of the 2024-25 season.
Wilbekin, 31, successfully underwent surgery on his right knee after a serious injury in Round 1 of the EuroLeague game against Olympiakos.
