Fenerbahce Beko, Olympiacos qualify for EuroLeague Final Four

Turkish basketball club Fenerbahce Beko and Greece’s Olympiacos were the latest to qualify for the 2024 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four as the playoffs ended on Wednesday.

Guests Fenerbahce Beko beat French opponents Monaco 80-79 at Salle Gaston Medecin to win in overtime in Game 5, which meant that the Istanbul team bagged a Final Four ticket to Berlin.

Guards Scottie Wilbekin and Nick Calathes led Fenerbahce to the victory, scoring 14 points each. Tarik Biberovic scored 13 points for Fenerbahce, and his teammate Marko Guduric added 10 points.

Monaco star Mike James was the game’s top scorer with 20 points. Donatas Motiejunas had 16 points and Elie Okobo racked up 15 points for the French side.

Meanwhile, Greek club Olympiacos won at Barcelona 63-59 in Game 5 to reach the Final Four stage.

Barcelona’s Argentine playmaker Nicolas Laprovittola was the game’s highest scorer, producing 17 points.

Shaquielle McKissic led Olympiacos, scoring 12 points at Palau Blaugrana.

Two other Olympiacos players — Nikola Milutinov and Kostas Papanikolaou — scored at least 10 points each.

The EuroLeague Final Four including two Greek clubs is set.

In the Final Four at Berlin’s Uber Arena on May 24, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens will play Istanbul’s Fenerbahce Beko, and Real Madrid will take on Olympiacos.

The semifinal losers will meet in a third-place game on May 26 before the final on the same day.
