Eurozone inflation hit double digits in September, reaching a fresh record of 10%, according to official data released on Friday.
The figure climbed from 9.1% in August and 3.4% in September 2021.
Energy prices, up 40.8%, were the biggest driver of inflation this month, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco at 11.8%, the EU’s statistical office Eurostat said.
The highest inflation rates were in Estonia (24.2%), Lithuania (22.5%) and Latvia (22.4%), while the lowest figures were in France (6.2%), Malta (7.3%), and Finland (8.4%).
