Eurozone industrial production growth eases in May

ANKARA

Industrial production growth in the euro area slowed to 0.2% on a monthly basis in May, according to data released on Thursday.

May’s figure, slightly below market estimates, followed a 1% month-on-month hike in April.

The production of capital goods rose 1% from the prior month in May, after surging 14.7% in April. The production of intermediate goods returned to growth in May by 0.5%.

On an annual basis, industrial output fell 2.2% in May, switching from 0.2% growth in April.
