European stocks close Monday higher

ISTANBUL

European stock exchanges closed with gains on Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose 3.31 points, or 0.75%, to end the day at 446.62.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was up 65 points, or 0.89%, to 7,425 at the final bell, while Germany’s DAX 30 added 110 points, or 0.73%, to 15,345.

France’s CAC 40, meanwhile, gained 42 points, or 0.6%, to conclude the session at 7,087.

Italy’s FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 420 points, or 1.48%, to 28,925.

Spain’s IBEX 35 added 90 points, or 0.96%, to end the first trading day of the week at 9,461.
