European stock exchanges were mixed at Wednesday’s open.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 0.15% to 387.4 points.
Germany’s DAX 30 dropped 0.12% to 12,205 points, Italy’s FTSE MIB was down 0.15% to 20,699 points, and Spain’s IBEX 35 fell 0.15% to 7,345 points.
The UK’s FTSE 100 index was among the gainers, rising 0.10% to 6,892 points.
Latest data released on Wednesday showed the UK economy contracted 0.3% in August, mainly due to a production slump, with industrial output declining 1.8%.
France’s CAC 40 also climbed 0.13% to 5,840 points.
