The unemployment rate in the euro area stood at 6.2% in February, seeing a slight increase from the previous month, according to official data that Eurostat published on Wednesday.
Eurostat reported that the unemployment rate in the eurozone rose from 6.1% in January, but decreased from 6.3% in February 2025.
Across the EU, the unemployment rate remained stable at 5.9% in February compared to January, while it fell from 6% in February 2025.
Eurostat estimated that 13.1 million people in the EU, including 10.9 million in the eurozone, were unemployment as of February.
Compared to January, the number of unemployed people increased by 137,000 in the EU and by 93,000 in the euro area.
Youth unemployment for individuals under 25 years old hit 15.3% in the EU and 14.9% in the euro area in February.
