Macedonian midfielder Eljif Elmas joined on Thursday Italian football club Torino from RB Leipzig on loan, with an option to buy until the end of the season.

“We would like to wish Eljif all the best in Turin! This loan deal is the best possible solution for all parties. Eljif will get the chance to play a lot of football there in a league he’s really familiar with,” Leipzig board member for sports Marcel Schafer said in a statement.

Torino confirmed that Elmas would wear the No. 11 jersey.

Elmas, who played for Turkish club Fenerbahce between 2017 and 2019, helped Napoli to win the 2022 – 23 Italian Serie A title.

Since 2017, the 25-year-old midfielder has been an integral part of the North Macedonia national team, accumulating 65 appearances and netting 13 goals.
