Economic confidence stable in EU, eurozone in July

ISTANBUL

Economic confidence broadly stable in both the EU and the euro area in July on a monthly basis, the European Commission revealed on Tuesday.

The confidence index was up by 0.1 percentage point in the EU and dropped by 0.1 percentage point in eurozone.

The Employment Expectations Indicator (EEI) declined markedly by 1.6 percentage points in the EU and 1.8 percentage points in the euro area, “falling below its long-term average for the first time since April 2021 in both areas.”

The consumer confidence indicator increased by 0.7 percentage point in the EU and by 1 percentage point in the euro area over the same period.
