Diesel prices continue to rise in US, exceeding $6.2 per gallon

ISTANBUL

US diesel prices hit a new record high on Monday, reaching $6.23 per gallon for the first time.

Last week, the price of diesel exceeded the $6 threshold due to increasing oil prices globally, American Automobile Association data showed.

Brent futures are trading at $107.6, up 3% as of 0630GMT; WTI is trading at $102.8, up 2.8%.

Last week, US President Donald Trump said current high energy prices are related to US efforts to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
