Deal Made: A $900 billion dollars COVID-19 package

WASHINGTON D.C.

Congress members finally reached an agreement on the long-discussed COVID-19 aid package. Following the $2.3 trillion dollar package in March, the $900 billion dollar new aid will be the second largest economic package in US history.

While 214 thousand people are affected by the virus every day in the country, more than 317 thousand people have died since the beginning of the epidemic.

MORE IS NEEDED

After the agreement, statements came from the members of the Congress. “We’ve finally got the support of both parties,” said Mitch McConnell, majority leader in the Republican Senate. The country needed this, ”he said.

Chuck Schumer, the leader of the Democratic Party in the Senate, thinks the package is not enough. “Anyone who thinks this aid is enough doesn’t know what happened in the US,” Schumer said. Schumer said they would press for more help after Biden took office.

$600 Dollars Per Person

With the package to be presented to President Donald Trump after the vote, which is supported by both wings of the Congress, it is planned, $600 dollars per person. Billions of dollars of aid to small businesses, as well as food support and vaccine distribution is stated to be allocated.
