ISTANBUL

Tobias Lund Andresen of the DSM-Firmenich-PostNL claimed stage 7 of the Tour of Türkiye on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Danish cyclist completed the 125.4-kilometer (77-mile) track in two hours, 50 minutes, and 58 seconds in Türkiye’s Aegean resort city of Izmir.

Tarteletto-Isorex team’s Timothy Dupont came second while Polti Kometa’s Manuel Penalver finished third.

Frank van den Broek of Dsm-Firmenich PostNL kept the Turquoise jersey, worn by the general classification leader, with a time of 25 hours, 53 minutes, and 9 seconds.

The grand final of the eight-day race in Istanbul will kick off at Besiktas Square and reach the historical peninsula for a magnificent finish at Sultanahmet Square.

The Tour of Türkiye, the only intercontinental bicycle tour in the world, is hosting four world tour teams, seven professional, 12 continental, and one national team.

The Turkish Cycling Federation has been organizing the tour, earlier known as the Marmara Tour, since 1963. It gained international status in 1965 and was brought under presidential authority in 1966.
