Czech Republic to reintroduce checks at Slovak border to curb migration

The Czech Republic on Tuesday announced it will begin checks along its border with Slovakia in a bid to address migration flow.

The Czech Republic is introducing random checks at the border with Slovakia due to the increasing volumes of migrant flow to the EU, Prime Minister Petr Fiala wrote on X.

He added that the country is in coordination with Poland, which is introducing similar checks.

Interior Minister Vit Rakusan said the measure will be carried out randomly and continue until Oct. 13 in the first phase.
