Cuba wants to strengthen economic ties with Turkey and welcome more Turkish entrepreneurs following a range of new trade-facilitating measures in the Caribbean nation, country’s ambassador to Turkey said Friday.
Luis Alberto Amoros Nunez’s remarks came during his visit to Anadolu Agency’s Deputy Director-General and Editor-in-Chief Metin Mutanoglu in the agency’s Ankara headquarters.
The ambassador and Mutanoglu discussed ways to improve bilateral relations and Anadolu Agency’s global operation.
Noting that the US is trying to limit the third parties’ ties with Cuba through embargoes, Amoros said Cuba has taken new steps to “ease economic activities and foreign trade” and wants to “grow business with Turkey.”
He added that the Caribbean nation is ready to provide necessary facilities to the Turkish businesspeople and there are “important” cooperation opportunities in the agriculture and food sector in which he said “Turkey is successful.”
Amoros also thanked Anadolu Agency for Cuba’s recognition in Turkey and its contributions to the international sharing of Cuban achievements in the fight against the novel coronavirus recently.
For his part, Mutanoglu said the agency will continue to contribute the strengthening of relations between Turkey and Cuba, and deliver the latest developments on the country to Turkey and worldwide through the agreement with Cuban news agency Prensa Latina.
