Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca announced on Thursday that Nicolas Jackson had been sidelined for “around six to eight weeks” with a hamstring injury.

“Nico is injured and will be out until the international break. Probably he will be back after the international break,” Maresca said, providing updates on Maresca ahead of the Premier League trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

“Unfortunately, he had a scan which has shown the injury, and he will be out for six to eight weeks,” he added.

Joining Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, Jackson was injured in a match against West Ham United two weeks ago.

The 23-year-old Senegalese striker has been a key contributor this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists across all competitions.

He has also earned 14 caps for the Senegal national team.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s 45-year-old Italian manager said Marc Guiu is dealing with a muscle issue, including a hamstring problem, which will sideline him for some time.

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the English Premier League standings, having accumulated 43 points from 24 matches.
