Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin shows ‘remarkable improvement,’ continues recovery

ANKARA

Damar Hamlin, a National Football League (NFL) player in the US, has shown “remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours” after suffering cardiac arrest, his team said Thursday.

“While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress. We are grateful for the love and support we have received,” the Buffalo Bills wrote on Twitter.

After a tackle, Hamlin, 24, collapsed during a Monday night NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bills previously confirmed that Hamlin suffered a “cardiac arrest” and was in “critical condition” at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Hamlin was administered CPR on the field before being rushed to the hospital. The game was postponed.

On Tuesday, NFL franchises and the league organizers called on everyone to “pray for Damar.”

Hamlin has been playing for the Bills since 2021.
