Bournemouth’s Turkish forward Enes Unal faced a major knee ligament injury, the English Premier League club said on Wednesday.
“We are devastated to confirm that Enes Unal has suffered a tear to his right anterior cruciate ligament during a training session this week,” Bournemouth said in a statement.
The 27-year-old “will undergo surgery to repair the ligament in the coming days.” He will also have a rehabilitation period.
Unal, who also plays for the Turkish national team, scored two goals in 17 Premier League matches.
He also played for Spain’s Getafe, Real Valladolid, and Villarreal, and Dutch club Twente.
