Turkish Black Sea side Trabzonspor thrashed Istanbul’s Galatasaray 4-0 on Sunday in the sixth week of the Turkish Super Lig.

Muhammed Salah opened the scoring in the fourth minute after latching onto a clearance and racing behind the Galatasaray defense before beating goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir with a low finish.

Salah came close to adding another five minutes later, but his effort from inside the box went just wide.

Trabzonspor doubled their lead in the 39th minute when Saviolo’s low shot from the right side of the box found the bottom corner after an assist from Salah.

The hosts made it 3-0 just before halftime. Dju won possession from Davinson Sanchez and played the ball to Salah, who finished low from inside the box in the 44th minute.

Galatasaray tried to respond after the break, but Trabzonspor remained dangerous.

Salah completed his hat trick in the 80th minute, breaking into the box on the right and calmly placing the ball beyond Cakir following a pass from Ozan Tufan.

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk was sent off in the 72nd minute after getting a red card for protesting a decision.

Trabzonspor were reduced to 10 men in the 85th minute when Ugochukwu’s yellow card for a foul on Ozan Tufan was upgraded to a red card following a VAR review.

Trabzonspor held on for a convincing 4-0 victory.
