Bayern Munich sign French right-back Sacha Boey from Galatasaray

ANKARA

Bayern Munich signed French right-back Sacha Boey from Galatasaray for €30 million (at least $32.5 million) plus add-ons, the Turkish football powerhouse said Sunday.

In a statement on X, the German giants said that Boey, 23, sealed a contract with Bayern Munich that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until June 30, 2028.

Galatasaray also said that the Istanbul side will bag €5 million conditional bonus from Bayern Munich.

In the deal, Galatasaray included the other bonuses of Boey’s future sale to another club, which is undisclosed, and it confirmed that there two friendlies will be held between the clubs with 50% of the profits going to the defending Turkish champions.

“This is a dream come true for me. It’s an honour for me to get to play for such a big club like Bayern. I’m really looking forward to my new team and getting to play with all these great players in the future. As a player, I’m a defender who likes to attack, just as happy being involved up front as in defence,” Boey told Bayern Munich in a statement on the club’s website.

The Bayern Munich CEO said that they are happy to sign Boey.

“We’re pleased to have signed a young player with a lot of potential on a long-term deal in Sacha Boey. He performed really well in both Champions League games against us. It means we haven’t just improved our squad depth but also added further quality,” Jan-Christian Dreesen said.

Galatasaray shared an emotional video on X to thank Boey for his service, and wished him success on his new journey at Bayern Munich.

In 2021, Boey left France’s Rennes for Galatasaray to play 83 matches and score four goals.

Boey, who was one of the integral parts of Galatasaray, helped the Lions win the Turkish Super Lig title last season.
