Bayern Munich beat EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes for maiden win

ANKARA 

German basketball club Bayern Munich finally bagged their first win of the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season, beating reigning champions Anadolu Efes 81-78 at home on Thursday.

Cassius Winston led Bayern Munich, scoring 16 points at the Audi Dome.

Isaac Bonga produced 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Elias Harris scored 10 points for Bayern Munich.

Anadolu Efes were handed an away loss even though Vasilije Micic scored 24 points and his teammate Will Clyburn racked up 21 points for the Istanbul team.

Now 17th in the EuroLeague standings, Bayern Munich have a 1-5 win/loss record.

Anadolu Efes are in a higher rank, but the Turkish club suffered their fourth loss in six games, a disappointing performance.

Fenerbahce Beko are leading the EuroLeague as they are on a 5-0 run.

On Friday, Fenerbahce Beko will visit Barcelona at Palau Blaugrana.

Barcelona are seventh with three wins. The Spanish club lost two games this season.
