Basel eliminated Trabzonspor with a 2-0 win in the second leg match of the UEFA Europa Conference League playoff round Thursday.
Swiss forward Zeki Amdouni brought the lead to Basel in the 13th minute at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.
Anastasios Bakasetas missed a penalty kick for Trabzonspor in the 27th minute and the first half ended 1-0.
Trabzonspor’s other penalty claim was ruled out by the video assistant referee (VAR) in the 50th minute.
The Black Sea Storm netted one, but the goal was disallowed by the VAR in the 63rd minute.
Andi Zeqiri scored the second goal of the hosts in the 76th minute and the match ended 2-0.
The Swiss club reached the Round of 16 with a 2-1 aggregate.
The Round of 16 draws in the UEFA Europa Conference League will be held on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.
