On Sunday, Barcelona beat Villarreal 1-0 as Pedri scored the winning goal for the visitors.
Spanish La Liga leaders Barcelona, who got their sixth win in a row, have 56 points in 21 matches to go 11 points clear of Real Madrid, who are in the second spot in the standings.
Real Madrid will face Elche in a league match on Wednesday as the Whites were in Morocco to win the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup.
Meanwhile in Italy, Napoli solidified their Serie A top spot, beating Cremonese 3-0 in a week 22 match Sunday.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen and Eljif Elmas were the scorers for Napoli.
The Naples club are taking firm steps for a long-awaited Italian title.
With six wins in a row in the Italian league, Napoli have 59 points in 22 matches.
Their nearest opponents Inter Milan have 43 points.
Inter will visit Sampdoria on Monday.
PSG lose at Monaco
French Ligue 1 leaders PSG on Saturday were shocked by Monaco 3-1 in a week 23 game.
PSG superstars Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi did not play in this match for injuries.
Russian midfielder Aleksandr Golovin scored the opener at Monaco’s Stade Louis-II. Wissam Ben Yedder scored twice for the hosts.
PSG’s Warren Zaire-Emery put the ball into the Monaco net in the first half.
The club from the French capital have 54 points after the away loss.
Second-place Olympique Marseille beat Clermont 2-0 as Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez was the scorer for OM on Saturday.
Olympique Marseille are five points behind the leaders.
Third-place Monaco increased their points to 47 after beating PSG.
Arsenal draw with Brentford, Man City approach leaders
English Premier League leaders Arsenal went on losing points as the Gunners were handed a 1-1 draw with Brentford in London on Saturday.
Arsenal previously stunned at Everton 1-0 on Feb. 4.
Leandro Trossard, Arsenal’s winter signing from Brighton, broke the deadlock against Brentford in the 66th minute, but the Gunners could not secure their lead at Emirates Stadium.
Manchester City chased Arsenal after beating Aston Villa 3-1 on Sunday.

Bayern Munich beat Bochum, keep their narrow lead on top
Bayern Munich, who won the German Bundesliga title for 10 consecutive years, have preserved their narrow lead in the league standings after they beat Bochum 3-0 in a home match on Saturday.
Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry scored for Bayern Munich.
Title contenders Union Berlin beat RB Leipzig 2-1 on Saturday, and Borussia Dortmund toppled Werder Bremen 2-0 on the same day.
Leaders Bayern Munich have 43 points in 20 matches. They are followed by Union Berlin, who have 42 points.
Borussia Dortmund have 40 points to be third in the league table.
