Major Asian stock markets closed Monday with mixed figures.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, lost 0.30% to reach 3,461 points as of 1130GMT.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 fell 0.30% to close at 32,189 points.
Japan’s current account surplus saw about a 2.5-fold increase year-on-year to 1.86 trillion yen (approximately $13 billion) in May thanks to record investment returns and a smaller trade deficit.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, rose 0.62% to reach 18,479 points.
China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange gained 0.22% to 3,203 points on Monday.
China’s consumer prices were unchanged in June on a yearly basis, the country’s statistical authority revealed on Monday.
The inflation rate was flat in cities, while it decreased slightly by 0.1% in rural areas, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
India’s Sensex index climbed 0.10% to close at 65,344 and the Singapore index ticked up 0.31% to end the day at 3,149 points.
