Asian stock markets see mixed figures

ISTANBUL

Asian stock markets followed a mixed course on the second trading day of the week while liquidity in Asian equity markets is at very low levels due to Christmas holiday.

Noting that the trading volume is expected to remain at low levels throughout the week, analysts reported that possible fluctuations in prices may be in wider ranges due to shallow market conditions.

The Kospi index in South Korea increased by 0.1% to 2,602 points, while the Shanghai composite index in China was 2,900 points with a 0.6% depreciation.

The Nikkei 225 index in Japan completed the day at 33,305 points with a 0.16% gain in value, and the USD/JPY parity is trading at 142.2 with a 0.1% decrease.

In India, the Sensex is at 71,370 points, up 0.4%.
