Following matches held Friday through Sunday, Arsenal extended their winning streak Premier League to six games, while Borussia Dortmund took the Bundesliga lead from Bayern Munich.
The Gunners clinched a 4-1 home win against Crystal Palace in the Premier League to go eight points clear at the top of the division on matchday 28.
After their sixth win in a row, Arsenal increased their total points to 69 in 28 league matches.
Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 3-3 draw against Southampton, while Newcastle United defeated Nottingham Forrest 2-1.
Chelsea drew 2-2 with Everton. Manchester United, Liverpool, and Man City’s games were postponed due to FA Cup involvement.
Second-place Manchester City are at 61 points but still have a match in hand. Manchester United are third with 50 points and Tottenham fourth with 49 points.
La Liga
Barcelona tasted a 2-1 win in an El Classico faceoff that dealt a blow to Real Madrid’s title hopes, with goals from Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessie. Real Madrid had taken the lead early in the game when Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo netted an own goal.
Barca now have 68 points after 26 La Liga matches and are 12 points clear of second-place Real Madrid.
Atletico Madrid sealed a comfortable 3-0 win over Valencia, while Real Sociedad defeated Elche 2-0 at home.
At 51 points, Atletico Madrid are third in the league, followed by Real Sociedad at fourth with 48 points in week 26.
Serie A
Juventus defeated hosts Inter Milan in Derby d’Italia as Filip Kostic scores the winning goal at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.
With the loss, Inter, who have 50 points in 27 matches, dropped to third in the 27th week Serie A table.
Juventus hold 41 points after the victory and the Turin club are in spot seven.
Italian Serie A leaders Napoli hammered Torino 4-0 at Olympic Grande Torino Stadium.
Napoli boosted their points to 71 in 27 matches as they eye their first Serie A title in 33 years in the coming weeks.
Lazio overtook Inter Milan in the standings after a 1-0 derby win over Roma to increase their points to 52.
Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund topped the German Bundesliga standings after a 6-1 win over Cologne in week 25. The new leaders have collected 53 points so far.
Bayern Munich suffered a 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0.
The Bavarians are second with 52 points, Union Berlin third with 48, and Freiburg fourth with 46.
Ligue 1
Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain are seven points ahead of second-place Olympique Marseille despite a defeat to Rennes on matchday 28.
Paris Saint-Germain are at the top of the standings with 66 points.
Alexis Sanchez scored twice to earn Olympique Marseille a 2-0 win at Reims. Third-place Lens beat Angers with a 3-0 score.
Olympique Marseille are second with 59 points, followed by Lens with 57 points.
