Arsenal, Napoli, PSG, Bayern Munich, Barcelona maintain leads in respective leagues

In matches held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Arsenal, Napoli, the PSG, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona maintained leads in their respective leagues.

Arsenal received a narrow away win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium as the goal came from Gabriel Martinelli.

Manchester City, meanwhile, got a comfortable 4-1 victory against Bournemouth. Erling Haaland scored a record 27th Premier League goal – more than any Manchester City player in a single campaign in the competition.

In a London derby, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Chelsea 2-0 score at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

On matchday 25 of the Premier League, Arsenal top the standings with 57 points, Manchester City are two points behind the league leaders and Manchester United are third with 49 points.

La Liga

Barcelona suffered a 1-0 loss against Almeria at the Mediterraneo stadium as the Malian striker El Bilal Toure scored the winner in the 23rd week.

With this defeat, Barca’s 13-game winning run came to an end.

Barca still top the La Liga table with 59 points.

Second-placed Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw over Atletico Madrid to remain in the second place with 52 points.

Fenerbahce’s Europa League opponents Sevilla lost to Osasuna 3-2 to have their 10th defeat.

– Serie A

Napoli defeated Empoli 2-0 to have 65 points in 24 matches. The Naples club went 18 points clear of second-placed Inter Milan.

Inter Milan lost 1-0 to Bologna while third-placed AC Milan beat Atalanta 2-0. Both Milan clubs have collected 47 points so far.

AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic became the club’s oldest-ever Serie A appearance maker at age 41 and 146 days, beating the mark that Alessandro Costacurta had established at 41 years and 25 days.

Bundesliga

Bayern Munich returned to the Bundesliga’s summit after beating title contenders Union Berlin 3-0 at home.

The Bavarians boosted their points to 46 in 22 matches to be back in the Bundesliga’s top position on goal difference.

Borussia Dortmund beat Hoffenheim 1-0 to extend their winning streak to seven matches as the goal came from Julian Brandt.

Fourth-placed Leipzig defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1.

On matchday 22, Bayern Munich and second-placed Dortmund collected 46 points while third-placed Union Berlin have 43 points.

Leipzig are four points behind the league leaders.

Ligue 1

French top-tier leaders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Olympique Marseille 3-0 to win Le Classique.

Kylian Mbappe netted a brace to reach 200 goals for his club. The 24-year-old equaled former PSG forward Edinson Cavani for the Paris giants’ all-time goal-scoring record.

In the first half of the match, Lionel Messi made a close-range finish after Mbappe’s pass into the six-yard box. It was Messi’s 700th club goal in his career.

The PSG increased their points to 60 and Olympique Marseille remained in the second spot with 52 points.

Monaco are currently third with 50 points.
