American Quincy Hall win gold in men’s 400m at Paris Olympics

ANKARA

Quincy Hall for the US won gold Wednesday in the men’s 400 meters at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Hall came from behind to pass eventual silver medalist Matthew Hudson-Smith from Britain and Muzala Samukonga from Zambia, who won bronze, and crossed the finish line in 43.40 seconds — the fifth-fastest time all-time.

Hudson-Smith set a European record at 43.44. Samukonga broke a new national time of 43.74.

London 2012 champion, Kirani James of Grenada, finished fifth.​​​​​​​
