ANKARA
Al Ittihad FC and Al Hilal reached the Saudi Super Cup final after semifinal clashes on Monday.
Al Ittihad beat Al-Wehda 2-1 with goals by veteran French striker Karim Benzema and Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah in the first and 40th minutes respectively at Al Nahyan Stadium.
Saudi Arabian winger Hussain Al-Eisa netted Al-Wehda’s only goal in the 97th minute.
In the other semifinal face-off, Al Hilal eliminated Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al Nassr 2-1.
Saudi Arabian winger Salem Al-Dawsari netted the first goal in the 61st minute, then Brazilian winger Malcom made it 2-0 for Al Hilal in the 72nd minute at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
Al Nassr’s veteran Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off with a red card in the 86th minute of the game.
Senegalese attacker Sadio Mane tallied the only goal of Al Nassr in the 99th minute.
The Saudi Super Cup final will be played between Al Ittihad FC and Al Hilal at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium on Thursday.
