A Rare Pair of Michael Jordan’s Sneakers Expected to Reach As Much $550,000 in Auction

NEW YORK, NY

NBA Legend Michael Jordan’s largest collection of sneakers will be sold at auction between July 30 to Aug. 13.

Christie’s Auction House and Stadium Goods said that they have partnered on a unique sale offering unique sneaker overview of Michael Jordan’s era-defining Chicago Bulls career.

Christie’s gamechangers sale includes rare Michael Jordan sneakers. The 1984’s game worn Air Ship sneakers are expected to fetch between $330,000 – $550,000.

“With a total of 11 lots, our first drop of highlights includes a pre-Jordan Brand Nike Air Ship Jordan worn during his rookie season, the very pair of the Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” worn in the Dream Team’s gold medal game in 1992, and a pair of classic Jordan 14s worn during practice for his final Bulls appearance, “Original Air” provides a one-of-a-kind look at Jordan’s career and his footwear’s impact on sports, culture and style,” it added on its website.

The auction includes three different Jordan’s items, Air Ship, MJ Player Exclusive, Game-Worn Sneaker, Air Jordan 7 “Olympic,” Player Exclusive, Game-Worn Sneaker, and Air Jordan 14 “Chicago,” Player Exclusive, Practice Worn Sneaker.

Air Ship was worn by Michael Jordan for the NBA preseason and early games of his rookie year.

This sneaker is expected to sell for between $350,000 and $550,000.

The pair is in a size 13.5 left shoe and a 13.5 right shoe.

Jordan wore Air Jordan 7 during the 1992 Summer Olympic final game between Team USA vs. Croatia in which Team USA beat Croatia with 117-85 as well as Jordan scored 22 points.

Also, Air Jordan 14 was worn by Michael Jordan during practice between games of the 1998 NBA Finals.

During his career with the Bulls, Jordan clinched their six NBA titles in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998.

He was also a six-time NBA Finals MVP (Most Valuable Player) and 14-time NBA All-Star.

The Bulls retired his famous no. 23 jersey in 1994.
