Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 842,810 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,640 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,729 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 861,984 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 9.3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from wind power plants accounted for around 24.1% of total generation, while dammed hydro plants and imported coal plants contributed 19.4% and 15.3%, respectively.
Electricity production from dam hydro plants accounted for around 24.4% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 19.4% and 14.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 21,336 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,144 megawatt-hours.
