Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 12.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 822,231 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,841 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,582 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 826,980 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 12.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 27.8% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 17.3% and 12.3%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 8,315 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,517 megawatt-hours.
