Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 4.6% on April 18

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.6% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 900,560 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,589 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,026 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 910,533 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 4.6% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 29.9% of total generation, while wind and run-of-river hydropower plants contributed 23.7% and 10.4%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 12,385 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,129 megawatt-hours.
