Sales of fully electric cars in Türkiye increased 51.7% to 99,489 units year-on-year in December 2024, according to data from the Turkish Automotive Distributive Association (ODMD).
The market share of fully electric cars in total sales increased from 6.8% to 10.1% and the share of hybrid cars increased from 11.1% to 18.8% compared to the same period of 2023.
The market share of fully electric, extended-range electric and hybrid vehicles increase to 29.5% year-on-year.
According to ODMD data, Türkiye’s Togg completed 2024 as the leader in the electric car market.
Togg sold 30,093 units in the whole year, 18,559 units ahead of its closest competitor.
During this period, Togg’s electric car market share was recorded as 30% and approximately one out of every 3 electric cars sold featured the Togg logo.
In terms of brand-based electric car sales, Togg was followed by Tesla with 11,534 units and BMW with 10,173 units in the January-December period.
Mercedes-Benz ranked fourth with 5,164 units and KG Mobility (Ssangyong) fifth with 4,708 units.
On a model basis, Togg T10X, Tesla Model Y, KG Mobility Torres, BMW X1 and MINI Countryman were the best-selling models in the period.
Approximately 2 out of every 10 cars sold in December were electric.
While a total of 134,811 cars were sold in December, electric car sales reached 21,598 units with an increase of 91.3% in this period and increased its market share to 16%.
