Yazeed Al-Rajhi wins 48-hour 2nd stage of Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia

ISTANBUL 

Saudi Arabia’s Yazeed Al Rajhi triumphed in the car class, while Australia’s Daniel Sanders claimed victory in the bike class during the second stage of the 2025 Dakar Rally.

The second day of the 967-kilometer marathon stage of the 47th Dakar Rally in the city of Bisha in Saudi Arabia has come to an end.

Al Rajhi from the Overdrive team won first place in the car class with a time of 10 hours, 56 minutes, and 54 seconds.

South African Henk Lategan (Toyota Gazoo) finished second with a difference of four minutes and 16 seconds, while five-time Dakar Rally champion Nasser Al-Attiyah from Qatar (Dacia Sandriders) finished third with a time of six minutes and 29 seconds.

In the general classification, Lategan finished first with a time of 15 hours, 40 minutes, and 30 seconds, four minutes and 45 seconds ahead of Al Rajhi.

Sanders wins all stages on bike 

In the bike class, Daniel Sanders from the Red Bull KTM team left his rivals behind with 11 hours, 12 minutes, and 13 seconds, achieving his third stage victory, including the preliminary stage.

The Australian pilot was followed by Frenchman Adrien Van Beveren (Monster Energy Honda), who had a six-minute 45-second lead, and American Skyler Howes (Monster Energy Honda), who had a seven-minute 37-second lead.

Sanders maintained his position at the top of the general classification with a time of 16 hours, 10 minutes, and 31 seconds, and finished 12 minutes and 36 seconds ahead of Howes.

The third stage of the Dakar Rally will be held on Tuesday on the 495-kilometer track between Bisha and Al Henakiyah.

The 2025 Dakar Rally will conclude in Shubaytah on Jan. 17.
