China on Friday sent four new satellites into space for ecological environment monitoring.

Indigenously-built Long March 2-D carrier rocket moved Beijing-3 and three other satellites into the orbit from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern China’s Shanxi province, Chinese People’s Daily reported.

It was the 373rd flight mission of the Long March rocket series.

The satellites will be used for ecological environment monitoring, disaster prevention and improving supply capacity of high-resolution remote sensing satellite data.

Meanwhile, the China National Space Administration released new pictures captured by China’s first Mars rover, Zhurong.

The pictures show Chinese national flag on Mars, landing site panorama, the Martian landscape, and a selfie of the rover with the landing platform.
