Turkish stock exchange flat at midweek’s close

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 9,639.77 points, up slightly by 0.04% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index gained 3.65 points from Tuesday’s close.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,618.88, while the daily high was 9,744.57.

The total transaction volume hit 99.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.86 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.6590 as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.5390, and the GBP/TRY traded at 43.8390.

The price of gold was $2,640.80 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $72.50.
