Bayer Leverkusen win Bundesliga title, ending Bayern Munich’s 11-year reign

Bayer Leverkusen won the German top-flight title for the first time in their 120-year history on Sunday after beating Werder Bremen 5-0.

The win ended Bayern Munich’s 11-year domination of the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen defeated Werder Bremen with Victor Boniface (penalty), Granit Xhaka and Florian Wirtz, who scored three at the Bay Arena.

Bayern Munich beat Koln 2-0 while Stuttgart claimed a 3-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Leverkusen, now on 79 points, are 16 clear of second-placed Bayern and third-placed Stuttgart.

In the English Premier League race, Manchester City took the lead after a 5-1 win over Luton Town, while both Arsenal and Liverpool suffered surprising home losses.

Arsenal lost to Aston Villa 2-0 while Liverpool suffered a narrow defeat against Crystal Palace.

Newcastle United clinched a comfortable 4-0 win against Crystal Palace Hotspur at St. James’ Park.

On matchday 33, Manchester City are two points ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool with 73 points.

Aston Villa collected 63 and Tottenham have 60 points.

Real Madrid have narrow win

Real Madrid have a narrow win over Mallorca as the goal came from Aurelien Tchouameni at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

Barcelona beat Cadiz 1-0 while Atletico Madrid defeated Girona 3-1.

Collecting 78 points, Real Madrid are eight points ahead of Barcelona.

Girona have 65 points and Atletico Madrid collected 61 points on matchday 31.

In Serie A, Inter Milan were held to a 2-2 draw with Cagliari and AC Milan drew 3-3 with Sassuolo.

Juventus were held to a goalless draw with Torino.

A Sunday match between Udinese and Roma was suspended after Roma’s defender Evan Ndicka collapsed on the pitch for an apparent chest problem.

The match was 1-1 when Ndicka was leaving the pitch, with nearly 20 minutes remaining.

Inter Milan are top of the table with 83 points, followed by AC Milan with 69 points and Juventus with 63 points.

PSG top of Ligue 1

Olympique Lyon rallied from trailing 3-1 to beat second-place Brest 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.

Lens suffered a 2-1 loss to Metz and Nantes clinched a narrow win over Le Havre.

Paris Saint-Germain are top of Ligue 1 with 63 points, second-place Brest collected 53 points and third-place Monaco, who have a game in hand, have 52 points.
