Major stock exchanges in the US opened Tuesday with gains.
The Dow Jones was up 74 points, or 0.22%, to 33,679 at 10.01 a.m. EDT (1400GMT), while the S&P 500 added 17 points, or 0.4%, to 4,352.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, rose 65 points, or 0.49%, to 13,550.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 3% to 17.18. The 10-year US Treasury yield climbed 1% to 4.690%.
The dollar index lost 0.1% to 105.97 while the euro added 0.37% to $1.0604 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold losing 0.2% to $1,857 an ounce and silver falling 0.3% to $21.81.
Oil prices declined around 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $87.34 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $85.44.
