Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 3.01% on Tuesday, August 15

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 3.01% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,104,505 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,458 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,883 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,104,505 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 2.90% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.4% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.2% and 16.1%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,173 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 17,004 megawatt-hours.
