Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 9.68% on Sunday, August 6

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9.68% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 968,074 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,449 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 34,470 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 954,356 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 9.93% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23.8% of total generation, while natural gas plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.9% and 12.8%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,973 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 17,690 megawatt-hours.
