Pakistani, Iranian foreign ministers hold talks in Islamabad

ISTANBUL

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met in Islamabad to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.

On Wednesday, Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Pakistan’s capital for an official visit.

“Wide-ranging talks are expected to cover all aspects of bilateral relations and the emerging regional situation,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said on X, a social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Before flying to Islamabad, the Iranian foreign minister had said the two sides will discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation, issues of the Muslim world and common security concerns, including the situation in Afghanistan.
