Barcelona confirmed the signing of Brazilian forward Vitor Roque on Wednesday.
“FC Barcelona and Club Athletico Paranaense have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Victor Hugo Roque Ferreira, better known as Victor Roque.
“The player is expected to join the Club for the 2024/25 season and will sign a contract until the 2030/31 season with a buyout clause of 500 million euros ($550.9 million),” Barcelona said in a statement.
“Culers, I’m very happy to sign with Bar a. It’s a dream come true. Tigrinho is coming to Barcelona. See you soon. Forca Barca!” Roque said in a video on Barcelona’s Twitter account.
The 18-year-old has played for Brazil’s Cruzeiro and Athletico Paranaense.
He scored 22 goals in 66 matches for Athletico Paranaense.
In February, Roque led Brazil to the South American U20 title, scoring six goals to end the tournament as the top scorer.
Roque is Barcelona’s third signing this summer after German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City and Spanish defender Inigo Martinez from Athletic Bilbao.
