Morocco reopened its consulates in Libya on Tuesday after an eight-year closure.
In a statement, the Moroccan Foreign Ministry said the consulates in the cities of Tripoli and Benghazi were reopened.
The statement, however, did not provide any details about the reopening of the Moroccan Embassy in Libya.
The North African country closed its diplomatic missions in Libya following an attack on its embassy in 2015.
Ever since, the Moroccan Consulate General in Tunisia has taken over the affairs of the Moroccan community in Libya.
Morocco’s diaspora in Libya is estimated at 50,000.
