ISTANBUL
The US stock market closed mixed Thursday, as the Dow Jones fell but the Nasdaq rose for the second consecutive day.
The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average dove 221 points, or 0.66%, to finish the session at 33,309.
The S&P 500 fell seven points, or 0.17%, to 4,130.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq, on the other hand, rose 22 points, or 0.18%, to end the day at 12,328.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.3% to 16.89.
The 10-year US Treasury yield, meanwhile, fell 1.4% to 3.388%.
The dollar index was up 0.6% to 102.06, while the euro dove 0.6% to $1.0916 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold falling 0.8% to $2,014 per ounce and silver plummeting 4.8% to $24.17.
Oil prices decreased more than 1.2%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $75.50 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $71.44.
