Türkiye’s current account gap falls to $4.5B in March

ANKARA

Türkiye’s current account deficit decreased to $4.5 billion in March, the country’s Central Bank said on Thursday.

The gap narrowed from $8.8 billion in February and $5.6 billion in March 2022, the bank’s data showed.

The country’s gold- and energy-excluded current account posted a surplus of $1.4 billion in March.

The goods deficit totaled $6.3 billion, while services saw a net surplus of $3.1 billion in the month.

In January-March, the country’s current account balance registered a $23.6 billion deficit, growing from a $17.8 billion deficit in the same period last year.
